Trump team hires Israeli company for 'dirty work' intelligence

Donald Trump's aides have hired an Israeli spy to find out "rotten" senior officials of former President Barack Obama who participated in the negotiation of nuclear deal with Iran in 2015. The revelation was made by The Guardian newspaper on Saturday (5).

According to the publication, the hiring took place in May 2017 and the targets of the investigation are Ben Rhodes, one of Obama's top security advisers, and Colin Kahl, deputy assistant to the former Democrat.

The goal is to discredit the nuclear deal signed in 2015 - which has lifted sanctions imposed on Tehran in exchange for guarantees that its nuclear program will be peaceful.

Iran says 'serious consequences' if US breaks nuclear agreement
The Israeli firm searched for details involving relationships, possible engagements with Iranian lobbyists and leaks to the press by Obama's aides.
No further details will be provided or any material was discovered.

Trump often says the deal is the "worst deal in history" and could withdraw the US from the treaty on May 12.
The international community has repeatedly stated the importance of Washington staying in the Iranian nuclear agreement.

The US president, and his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, say Iran disrespects the terms of the deal.
